Unravel Your Brilliance
I’ve been fortunate enough to be surrounded by many brilliant people. That is particularly true, as of late. And I’ve found they share something in common, it’s a common thread.
So, come along with me and let’s unravel their secret.
There’s a golden thread that unites them. Some people call that thread resilience. Others coin terms that we’ve all heard — Grit, tenacity, or phrases like “they never give up.”
Their secret?
They combine their God-given talents with their knowledge, but this combo alone isn’t a recipe for success. These people don’t simply rely on their talents and knowledge. They get moving, and they move to disrupt.
They disrupt the status quo.
They innovate. They shift. They fail. But the common thread that binds them seems to be that they aren’t afraid of taking action. They aren’t afraid of failing and they “do to disrupt.”
All this disruptive doing makes me wonder. What keeps their brilliance alive?
How do they continue day in and day out?
How do they keep moving forward despite challenges?
Where does their seemingly endless supply of energy and motivation come from?
Why don’t they simply watch from the sidelines and let their lives unfold?
Because they aren’t bystanders. They are in the game.
Brilliance motivates us to not only to play but play to win.
That’s brilliance to me. It’s different than IQ + EQ. It’s different than becoming an overnight success. It’s more than smarts or savviness.
All those things contribute to brilliance, but, to me, brilliance means that you first must:
Create a beautiful tangle, combining all that you are.
Put yourself in the game.
Learn the plays and execute those plays day in and day out.
Because when you do, you make the world a better place.
Are you willing to unravel your brilliance one thread at a time?
